Spiritual Formation/Discipleship

We believe that an important part of our ministry is to provide opportunities for students to be challenged to explore different means of spiritual growth and maturity. Students are encouraged to take part in and provide leadership for Bible Study, Worship, Christian community, mission experiences, and other spiritually forming disciplines like prayer, fasting, and reflection. Through these experiences, students will explore how their spiritual life is influenced by and can influence the culture around them.

As part of this spiritual formation we will have ongoing Bible Study, and specific service related activities. These activities include a Spring Break Mission trips, serving the local community by joining with organizations such as the Muncie Mission, TeamWork for Quality Living’s Overcoming Poverty Together Dinners, and Habitat for Humanity. We will also offer opportunities for special worship gatherings to be held off-site at a local church or as part of a special retreat. In addition, students will be offered the opportunity to participate in a variety of options for special summer mission experiences through our Indiana Baptist camps at Tippecanoe and Indian Creek, Mission-Year, Camp Barnabas, or other special mission experiences. Links to these can be found under our Links menu on the right sidebar.

Our housing ministry has space for up to 4 students to live at the house and participate in an immersive experience which emphasizes student leadership development, intentional Christian community, mission and service. Residents enter into a covenant with us to participate in the housing ministry and take part in special training and spiritual development with the Campus Pastor and Residential Life Leader or Student Intern, who will also serve as the House Leader. Although the students who live at the house have their own living spaces, the main part of the house is community space for all students to use as they need it and will serve as the primary place for our Student Bible Studies.
